Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt

Storyline

Pig farmers Carlos Perez and Karen Stiers have been stolen a cargo of valuable breeding stock, so they turn to private detectives Remington Steele and Laura Holt.

Since the two have invested money in that company, they take on the commission to search for the stolen breed sows, because they will otherwise risk losing the money they had invested. Thus, Laura and Remington set out to Iowa, since the animals were stolen there.

Once there, they discover that their new assignment is not the only issue that has something to do with pigs. Preston Hayes, owner of the pig breeding company Agritec, is apparently intending to ruin the local breeder.

He is motivated by his plan of buying the land cheaply and is also supported by the unscrupulous banker Willard. The private detectives first inspect the crime scene, where they find no trace of the perpetrators except for some chewing tobacco.

However, this chewing tobacco seems to indicate that Melvin Brundage was involved in the theft. In the hope of getting the stolen animals through him, Laura and Remington watch the daily routine of Brundage. Melvin Brundage actually leads them to the stolen pigs.

Apparently the investigation of the case was still much easier than they had thought. But the two private investigators will not only find the stolen pigs, but also the murdered banker Willard. However, neither Remington Steele nor Laura Holt believe that Brundage would be capable of murder.

Apparently the two investigators are right, because shortly after, a bomb attack is launched on them. It turns out that their assessment of Melvin Brundage was correct, because neither he, nor the company owner, Preston Hayes, were behind these attacks.
